About Me

Sana (sə.ˈnɑː | sa.naa)

Hello! My name is Sana, and I am a Senior User Experience Researcher at BC Public Service in Vancouver. I’m originally from India and then I moved to Canada in 2019.

I went to McGill University in Montreal, where I did my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a double minor in Management and Linguistics.

My Journey into UXR

Choosing a career path after graduation was a daunting task. I considered many different fields but they never seemed like “the one” for me.

My interest in User Experience Research (UXR) sparked unexpectedly one day while I was complaining about software that was neither intuitive nor user-friendly. A friend remarked on my knack for identifying usability issues which set me on a path to explore the field of UXR. And I knew I had found my calling.

To deepen my understanding of the field, I enrolled in computer science courses during my final year of university. This allowed me to gain insight into software design and backend processes. This technical knowledge enhanced my grasp of what is feasible in terms of usability.

I also reviewed all my past work experiences for transferrable skills relevant to UX. I realized that many of my previous roles incorporated UX components in various ways, reinforcing my passion and suitability for this field.

See resume for info on experience!
